YWAM-DTS

Discipleship Training Schools aim to prepare messengers of the Gospel, and to help people get to know God in deep and meaningful ways. The goal is to help form Christian character, while establishing Biblical relationships between the student and God, and between the student and their family and friends.

The emphasis is on developing a daily walk with God rather than to accumulate lots of information. Our desire through this course is to see everyone develop an intimate relationship with God. Right relationship with God affects the way that we live our lives and the way we relate to people around us.

Through visiting speakers and a live-in training environment, a YWAM DTS challenges all students to get to know God intimately. The DTS takes the student out of the lecture hall and into real life discipleship and evangelism situations where the principles learnt can be applied and tested.

Cross cultural exposure and global awareness is emphasised throughout the DTS. We desire to see you answer God's call to go into all the world and make disciples of all nations. The focus is on character development. DTS is also the entry level course for all who want to be on staff of YWAM International.

Not everyone necessarily joins YWAM after completing a DTS. Many participate in a DTS to take time out of their lives, to concentrate on God and consider whether He might be calling them to Christian ministry. For those who choose to go onto a career with YWAM, successful completion of the DTS qualifies them to apply for hundreds of staff opportunities throughout the world. Graduating from the DTS also qualifies students to go on to YWAM's other training programs, such as those offered by YWAM's University of the Nations (UofN).

The motto of Youth With A Mission is: To Know God and to Make Him Known. This is the purpose of the DTS.

Through our Discipleship Training School's, we desire to call society to a higher standard – we want to see God’s standard in each sphere of society: Government, Family, Education, Science/Technology, Economy, Church, Communication & The Arts. These spheres belong to Him and people need to see who He is – Lord of all.

We nee to learn to value what God values and to learn what is our part in seeing His Kingdom come!
