Tae Kongsanan

Tae KongsananI can confidently say that God is my saviour since He sent His one and only son to die on the cross for our sins. I also believe that nothing can separate us from Him, except by our own choice.

Everyone that believes in God will know His voice and live their life in relationship with God.

We are challenged with things that we cannot see, and it is like we are wearing a blindfold and have someone leading us along. To go on further, we need to follow and trust their guidance. Just like there are many of us obeying and following God, not knowing what they will meet along the way. We have hope that one day we will receive the prize that God has in store for us.

Working at the office My name is Sirikanya Kongsanan, but I am known by my nickname ‘Tae’. I am 25 years old and come from a Buddhist family. I am the eldest child and have one younger brother and one younger sister. I was born in Nong Khai province in Thailand. Nong Khai lies on the Mae Khong river, which runs between Thailand and Laos. I lived there until the year 2001, when I completed High School, after which I had the opportunity to study International Business at a university in Bangkok. I was the first one in my family to be able to study at university. I had the opportunity to stay in a Christian dormitory, called House of One Heart (BJD), which is a discipleship house ministering to university students and ministry of Youth With A Mission (YWAM). I got to stay there because I followed a friend who went to stay there because they were Christian and had a relative staying there. Whilst staying at Baan Jai Diaow, I had to join in the activities run there, which included bible study, and worship times. I joined in these activities, but wasn’t really interested in it all.

Tae at Tsunami Camp Then in late 2001, I had the opportunity to join in a Kings Kid’s camp, which is another ministry of YWAM. At that camp, I saw some miracles of God. One day, while we were doing some evangelism, one of the youth had a really sore stomach and was crying a lot. We didn’t have any medicine with us, so we prayed and asked God to heal them. In a short time all the pain had gone away. After seeing that miracle from God, I started to be interested in Him, and wanted to know more about Him. After that I was able to see people who really loved God, and see how different they are from everyone else. They really love other people, they give of themselves not expecting anything in return and many other things. I also studied the bible more, and really started to see the love and character of God, and saw that He is the only one who can fill all the voids in my life. This is why I opened up my heart and accepted Jesus into my life, letting Him be Lord in my life. I was able to study the bible more with some missionaries, and continued to study at university.

Outreach in ThailandIn 2005 I went to study in a Discipleship Training School (DTS) which is a course for building disciples by helping them know God more. In that time I grew and learned a lot, especially in hearing the voice of God and His calling. In early 2006, after DTS, I had the opportunity to serve with the YWAM Thailand National Office in Bangkok, as an accountant and also helping with the Performing Arts Ministry. This is a volunteer job with no salary, and thus I rely on God and other people for financial support. I have committed to serve here for one year, and after that I would like to study and learn more in the areas of worship, intercession, dance and music, so I can know the heart of God more. I would also like to study a School of Biblical Studies to help me know the word of God more, and to know Him more.

Ways that you can be praying for me:

  • Pray that I will continue to know God more and have more of a heart to
    serve Him.
  • Please pray for my family, especially my mother and sister who do not know God yet.
  • Pray for my finances, that I have enough to help support my family, including my brother who is currently studying at university, and that I will have enough for myself too.
  • I have a desire to study more about worship, intercession and spiritual warfare, so that I can know God more. I plan to study the School of Worship here in Bangkok this April. Pray for this, and that the finances will be provided for me. I will need about 40,000B (US$1150) for both the lecture and outreach phases.
