VISION
STATEMENT: To know God and make Him known.
My name is Wilawan Watyotha or Pook as most of my friends call me.
I was born in the city of Khonkaen in March 9, 1981. I was raised
in Buddhist family. My father is a teacher and my mother is a farmer.
I gave my life to the Lord on January 13, 2001 at a camp which was
a ministry of the Campus Outreach during my first year in college.
Later on, one of my sisters came to know Christ. I participated
in weekly small group meetings, campus ministry, bible studies,
church worship team, retreats, summer training programs provided
by the Campus Outreach from 2001-2004.
After
I graduated from university in 2004, I decided to do a 7 month training
program called University
Discipleship Training School
(UDTS) which was run by Youth With A Mission in Khon Kaen. It was
hard for me because I was expected by my family to get a good job
and be able to take care of myself. But I decided to move on and
finish my UDTS in October 2004. I had a great time during my outreach
but I was also going through a challenging situation in my life
at the time.
Three weeks after I finished the training course, God opened the
door for me to go to the United States for cultural exchange program.
I was working as a baby sitter in Georgia, in the southern United
States. I learned so much from being a nanny and started to understand
more about different culture, values, and lifestyle.
I
felt led by the Holy Spirit to do the School of Worship in Montana.
I got my visa and the way in which God took me there was a miracle.
I did the school in September 2005. I learned so much about worship
during this time.
I came back to my home country, Thailand, to be staff with Youth
With A Mission Thailand helping staff the School of Worship in Bangkok
in 2006-2007. During the break from the school, I was a translator
for international mission teams that came to Thailand for mission
trips for 11 months.
As
God has laid on my heart for several years to see Thai worship music
being produced in Thai language, I went back to USA in September
2007 to get more training on music through School of Music in Mission.
My heart is to be able to share Christ and encourage brothers and
sisters in Christ through music. I want to serve God as a music
producer and songwriter, and host these kinds of teams. Right now,
I am working with the Outreach Teams Department which is a part
of YWAM Thailand National Office. I work as a translator. A new
role that I have recently is to give orientations for incoming teams.
This includes providing them cultural information, basic language
skills, and ministries that YWAM is pioneering in Thailand.
I feel called to full time missions work with Youth With A Mission.
Your prayers and financial contributions are vital in making this
happen. Would you please pray whether God would have you support
me and the work of YWAM Thailand.
Thank
you for investing in me and believing God with me.
May God bless you!
