Pong
Hoiyeepoo
 Mr.
Weerapong Hoiyeepoo, is often called by his nick name - "Pong".
He was born in Angthong province and works in the Child Sponsorship
Program office in Bangkok.
I am the youngest of 2 boys. My mother and father are separated
and my father has a new family. He never came back to see mom or
us again. Mom had to work really hard to support our family. When
I finished Grade12, I had to work, so that mom did not have to work
again because she was old. Mom also is a diabetic, with high blood
pressure, she needs to go to hospital for check-up every month.
Now mom lives with my aunts in Angthong.
I worked for a factory in Samut-Sakorn for about 5 years. Then,
someone told me about Jesus. This was new to me and I studied it
for about 1 year before I opened up my heart to believe and be baptized
into the name of the Lord. After that I moved to Bangkok to work.
I was a young Christian and lots of people around me were resistant
to me. However, I continued to witness to them.
Later on I came to work for a Christian organization, which was
an answer to my prayers. I know it is not a co-incidence that I
work here. God called me and he chose me to work for Project LIFE
Foundation, in the Child
Sponsorship Program.
I am very happy working for the children, becoming part of their
lives and being able to carry some of their burdens. In 2002, I
went to do a YWAM Discipleship
Training School (DTS)
in Chiang Mai. We had the opportunity to visit China for 2 weeks
on our outreach.
After that our team finished our outreach in Thailand. We went up
to Mount Intanon in Chiang Mai, witnessing to Mong tribal people.
Mong native people worship dead spirits, nearly all the homes will
have idols or pictures of the Gods. When Christians went in to tell
them about the good news of Christ, an influential medium in that
village received Jesus and this brought a lot of changes to the
village. Mong people began to believe in God. Praise Him!
Now, I am more committed to work for Project LIFE Foundation’s
Child Sponsorship Program because I want to see the project children
believe in Jesus. I want to be God’s channel of blessings,
to take the good news of Jesus to the children, so that they will
be saved and not only the project children but all the children
that I come in contact with through them.
