Pan Piawong
- Performing Arts Ministry Leader
 My
name is Sunya Piawong but everyone calls me by my nickname "Pan".
I was born and raised in a small village outside of Ubon, which is
in the Northeastern part of Thailand near the Cambodian border. I
am 26 years old.
Before I knew Jesus, my life was hopeless and I had no one to turn
to. I was so desperate for someone to love me and was on the verge
of committing suicide when I met Paul Hudson. Paul was leading a team
from America who had come to tell students at the Ram 2 University
campus about Jesus. He began to tell me how much God loved me and
wanted to give me a new life!
That was nine years ago now and after I accepted Jesus into my heart,
my entire life changed. I finally found real love, peace and joy.
God became my one and only hope and, through His grace, He reached
down to me and showed me His love for me.
After I accepted Christ, I started to grow as a Christian and began
living at House of One
Heart (BJD) which is a Christian student dorm near the Ram 2 campus.
After I completed my Discipleship
Training School (DTS) with YWAM, I came on staff serving the students
of BJD. I also began to grow a lot during this time as I learned about
leadership and how to disciple young Thais. After four years on staff,
I started a Coffee Shop Ministry, just outside of the BJD building,
selling ice coffee and tea, fruit shakes and small sandwiches. This
ministry continues today and our heart is to help others to come to
know God as they visit our Coffee Shop. Our own BJD students and visiting
outreach teams are blessed by it as well.
 Last
year I got married to Gan Boonmee who was on staff with me at Baan
Jai Diaow. Gan was born and raised in the Thai province of Surin that
is famous for their elephants! Gan is now one of the leaders of the
BJD ministry.
Recently, I took over the leadership of a new ministry called "Performing
Arts". Our desire is to use art as a tool to reach the lost of
Thailand.
Please pray for Gan and I that we would have wisdom as we work with
other staff members, students and with new believers in each of our
ministries.
