Eve Buasri - Bangkok DTS Leader

Sawadee Kha. My name is Eve but my full name is Lamun Buasri. I was born in a very small village in Khon Kaen province in Northeast Thailand (Isaan). I am 30 years old and single. I was raised in a Buddhist family and my parents are very strong Buddhists. Because of that, they wanted me to be a good Buddhist as well. When I was a teenager I had the chance to move to the city of Khon Kaen, to study at a vocational college.

While in Khon Kaen, something happened that would change my life forever! One of my friends told me about Jesus! After that it took almost 3 years until I was saved. It was very difficult for me to convert because my whole family is Buddhist and I was taught to be Buddhist. But finally after a long time, I received Jesus as my Saviour God.

Honestly speaking I feel that I was really "born again" about 4 years after I asked Jesus to be Lord of my life. Now, I am glad that I know Jesus and can serve the Lord. I know that I will never ever leave the Lord, because I know that he is so real, the truth and the life. I also want my whole family to become Christians as well. Please pray for them with me.

In 2000, I moved to Bangkok to work and also to study at the Ramkhamhaeng University Campus. While in Bangkok, I was staying at a Christian student center called "House of One Heart" (Baan Jai Diaow) which is one of the YWAM Thailand University ministries in Bangkok. After a while, I felt that the Lord was calling me to do a Discipleship Training School (DTS), so I went to Chiang Mai to do my DTS in 2002. The course lasted 5 months including our 2-month outreach time. After I finished my DTS, I knew my calling and desire was to work with youth. I went on staff with BJD at that time to continue doing discipleship amongst our university students.

In 2004, I went to India to do the School of University Ministry (SUM). While there, the Lord showed me what he wanted me to do in the future. Not only does He want me to work with youth in Thailand, but youth all over the world. Around this time, God began speaking to me about starting a bi-lingual DTS here in Bangkok. It seemed overwhelming at first but I kept praying and trusting God. I also took every opportunity I could to receive training and to be equipped and prepared.

In 2008, I led my first bi-lingual DTS with 20 students coming from 5 different nations, several of whom have remained to serve in YWAM Thailand. Others have followed God's leading into different spheres of society. In 2009, I led my second DTS with 9 students coming from 5 different nations.

I love the diversity of a bi-lingual DTS and how God works through the richness of different nations and cultures. God has been so faithful to me: to teach me and to strengthen me.

I continue to have a passion to disciple young people and to see them released into God's calling for their lives through the ministry of DTS. As I think about how Jesus said we are to make disciples, I have a desire to see graduates from the DTS have God's heart and use their gifts and talents in different spheres of society - Education, Business, Government, Church, Media, the Arts and so on. Then the nations will be changed and discipled.
