May 2009 Update

Training Program

Our first training program of 2009 went very well. Of the eight students, six are still with us at Tamar, and two returned to their homes upcountry. We are very excited to see the changes in their lives. It is especially wonderful to see how excited these women are to join us in the bar outreach in Pattaya, to share what they have received with women still in the bars.

Visit to U.S.

Nella and Oh have just returned from their five week fundraising trip to the States. They had a great time and are very thankful that they were well received in many places and made good connections with many people. They were really blessed by the generosity and hospitality they received by all those who opened their homes to them. They enjoyed a variety of experiences, from pleasant spring weather to tasting the snow of the Rocky Mountains!

We are deeply thankful for all the generous support we have received for the new building fund through Nella and Oh’s trip, and also for the many offers of practical help with the development of Tamar Center in the future. We received over $60,000 during the trip. It is so humbling for us to see how the Lord moves brothers and sisters from around the world to partner with us as we work together to see the kingdom of God expand here in Thailand.

Next week Nella will move on again… this time to Netherlands for two months furlough. Please pray with us that in August, when Nella is back, we will be able to negotiate a good price and begin renting the building next to us.

Pattaya Praise

Time goes by so quickly, it is time for us to begin thinking about this year’s Pattaya Praise! This year it will be from 18th – 21st November. A team from Ireland will definitely be joining us and we hope many more teams from other places will come too. If you are interested in bringing a team or coming as an individual please contact Nella Davidse. You are welcome to come on your own or in a group to pray, worship, and reach out with us, or you can come as a worship team to help lead worship events at different locations around the city.
