 For
your time on the island, we usually recommend Koh Samet as the island
of choice. This is where we send most teams for several reasons...
- It is close
to BKK (about 3 hours away).
- The beaches
are nice.
- It is affordable
for most teams.
- We have a
connection with a guest house at Koh Samet.
- Many of the
other more "well known beaches" down south - Phuket,
Samui are REALLY expensive and take a while to get to (usually
an overnight bus or train) so this seems to work out well...
Our main concern
is maxing out your beach time and making sure you guys have a great
time relaxing....
 Van
- From Bangkok, we will use a 10-12 passenger van to take you and
your team to the pier (1 van will be used for every 12 people).
The cost is 3,000 baht for the one-way trip. The trip takes approximately
3.5 hours.
Speed Boat - Once you
arrive at the pier, we will make arrangements for a speed boat to
take you across to the island. The one-way trip for the speed boat
(15 minute ride) costs 1,000 baht (1-4 persons), 1,400 baht (5-10
persons) and 1,600 baht (11-15 persons).
Special Note - There is an entrance fee
of approximately 200 baht per person. Koh Samet Island is located
within a national park and all visitors are required to pay this
entrance fee.
The other nice thing about Koh Samet is that there aren't any huge
brand name hotels spoiling the beach...there are lots of little
bungalow places so everyone is quite close to the beach...
Haad
Sai Gaeow Villa is the place where we send teams. They
have a couple of options for teams. We understand that most teams
have meager budgets for debriefings so they are just thrilled to
be able to GO to a beach!
- FAN
ROOM – These rooms are equipped with a fan, no
TV, no fridge, no hot water etc. We get a discounted rate of 500
baht based on 2 people per room. If you desire to add a third
person the room rate increases by 200 baht.
- STANDARD
AIR ROOM – These rooms are equipped with air conditioning
but have no refrigerator, TV etc. We get a discounted rate of
800 baht, based on 2 people per room. If you desire to add a third
person the room rate increases by 200 baht.
- VIP
AIR ROOM - These rooms are equipped with air conditioning,
refrigerator, satellite TV, hot water etc. We get a discounted
rate of 1,000 baht, based on 2 people per room. If you desire
to add a third person the room rate increases by 200 baht.
The
food on the island is still fairly affordable. There are many restaurants
to choose from up and down the beach as well. You will probably
be in the 150-200 baht range for food per person, per day. There
are many places that have nice candle light dinners out on the beach
at night just after sunset...BBQ/seafood etc...so if you want to
splurge here and there...you can! In addition to this, there are
also lots of internet places too!
For your last day on the island, you can check out between 12:00
PM – 2:00 PM, and then leave your stuff by the front desk,
and enjoy a last few hours on the beach! Then, we will arrange for
the speedboat to come and bring you back to the mainland where we
will have the bus come and meet you and your team. We will then
bring you and your team back to the NRTC
or Avana
Hotel.
