 YWAM
Khon Kaen is a ministry of Youth With A Mission in Thailand. Our
main focus of ministry is evangelism and discipleship on University
campuses. We are also actively involved in assisting the local churches
through visiting outreach teams, preaching, and seminars.
Khon
Kaen is located in the heart of Isaan region in the northeast of
Thailand, near the border of Laos. In the future we hope to also
minister to the northeastern part of Thailand which has some very
spiritual and physically needy areas.
Currently,
YWAM Khon Kaen is ministering in key areas - Khonkaen, Mahasarakham,
Khorat and Galasin and has 35 full time staff. This includes 19
Thai nationals, 13 Koreans, 1 New Zealander, 1 Canadian/Korean and
2 Indian. Nam Hyun Kim is the leader of YWAM Khon Kaen. Some of
our ministries include:
Khon Kaen Campus Ministry
 Our
Khon Kaen Campus Ministry focuses on 6 campuses in Khon Kaen province.
Our main focus is on evangelism of university students. Our main
vehicle that we do this through is our "YWAM Club" which
is a registered student extra curriculum activity. The clubs have
their own meeting room which is open daily. The YWAM Clubs also
host visiting outreach teams and help to organize campus outreach
activities, including Korean and English Camps. Our Khon Kaen Campus
Ministry also provides hostel accommodation and currently has 5
students staying with us from the different campuses.
International Cultural Centre
The International Cultural Center is another new ministry initiative
which began last year. Our desire is to have an impact amongst the
university students both as an outreach and training center. We
are strategically located on a busy road close to four main university
campuses.

This
three story building features a Coffee House on the ground floor,
with English and Korean language classrooms along with a music training
room on the upper levels.
Youth Ministry
 Youth
Ministry is another area that YWAM Khonkaen is very active in. Currently
we have access to 6 schools on a regular basis. The programs at
these schools involve Bible teaching and Korean classes as well
as a 10 day Youth Discipleship Training Course (YDTC) which we run
twice a year. Future plans also include working in two other schools
nearby but due to a lack of staff, we have not been able to start
in these. Another part of the Youth Ministry is providing hostel
accommodation for high school students and every Wednesday evening
we also have a worship time.

Mahasarkham
Campus Ministry
We are currently working on 3 separate university campuses in Mahasarakham
province. Our main focus again is on evangelism and discipleship.
In the future will have YWAM Clubs running but currently we have
all our activities in the food canteens and other places on the
campus. We are also involved in organizing other activites including
Korean and English camps. Hosting visiting outreach teams and also
providing hostel accommodation for university students. Mahasarakham
is around 85km from Khonkaen province.

Galasin
Campus Ministry
One of staff from the Mahasarakham Campus Ministry recently pioneered
the campus ministry in Galasin. Together with another new staff
person, they have been spending lots of time on the university campus
getting to know the students, building relationships and praying
for God to open new doorways of opportunity. The Galasin Campus
Ministry will also provide hostel accommodation for university students
and will have their own Worship Meetings very soon.
Khorat Campus Ministry
The focus of the Khorat Campus Ministry in again on evangelism and
discipelship and is currently working on 4 campuses. We have a "YWAM
Club" operating on one of these campuses but hope to have a
club on each of the campuses as well. Right now, we host oureach
teams and organise different activities such as Korean and English
camps. We also provide hostel accommodation for university students.

Udon
Thani Campus Ministry
YoungJoo Kim from South Korea after working with campus ministry
and UDTS for almost six years in Khon Kaen has recently pioneered
our campus ministry in Udon Thani. She is now joined by two students
from the university, one Thai brother and one Vietnamese sister.
Both of the students are Christian. Like the other campus ministry
base Campus Ministry Udon Thani will also have their own Worship
Meeting and provide hostel accomodation for the university students
very soon.
