Why does the YWAM Chiang Rai base exist?
The Chiang Rai base is a multi-cultural community committed to grow in our love for Jesus and to make Him known in Thailand, South East Asia and beyond. Doesn’t get much simpler than that, does it? To Know God and Make Him Known
How do we do that?
We have certain focuses that help us aim toward expressing the heart of God and they are:
- Being an inclusive community where all people involved can find their place and use their gifts and callings to serve God and His people
- Training and equipping people to fulfill their callings into all areas of societies
- Developing leaders who aim to be like Jesus and lead us into greater influence in our world
- Actively participating in reaching the people who have never yet heard the gospel of Jesus
- Administrating well all the resources that God has given us to further His kingdom
What’s happening at the Chiang Rai base?
Currently we are discipling people from around the world through three programs that God has designed. The Discipleship Training School started in January and will end in August. The School of Biblical Studies will begin in September and end in July 2010. The Leadership Development Course will begin in September and end in October. Over the years we have been sending teams to Laos, Cambodia and of course within Thailand. However, the aim is to send teams each year to all the surrounding countries including Myanmar, Vietnam and China so that people who have never heard the gospel of Jesus can come to know Him and love Him and share Him with others.

COME: We are always open to new people coming and joining our multi-cultural family. If God is calling you to South East Asia or beyond and you would like to get connected and equipped to go fulfill God’s calling on your life then we’re the people you’ve been looking for. We have opportunities for everyone to serve and if you’ve got the heart and the time we invite you to come.
GIVE: There are always ways in which God’s family around the world can invest into God’s kingdom.
Our needs:
- Scholarship money to train Asians to be missionaries
- More accommodations (we already outgrew our current accommodations)
PRAY: Below are some prayer needs:
- That our relationships with God would deepen daily
- That we would be able to reflect, both in word and deed, the character and truth of God
- Health
- Multiplication of God-loving missionaries
