The purpose of School of Biblical Studies (SBS) is to help our students to have a solid biblical foundation that will guide them in every area of their lives. We believe that once people have a strong biblical foundation, their ministries, marriage, finance, counseling, etc. will be guided by God’s word. And that leads to effectiveness and to God’s glory.
In
this program students study every book of the New Testament
using the inductive method of Bible study. Our goal is for students
to grasp the message of each book of the New Testament and, as well,
the big picture of the whole New Testament.

Saipin (class 2010)
Saipin is from Chiang Rai, Thailand. Before she did a DTS in Chiang Mai, she was involved with The Refuge House in Chiang Rai. Right after doing the DTS, she applied for the NT SBS in Chiang Mai, and now she is going to be graduating from the SBS.
Why do you want to study the NT Thai SBS?
"Because I want to know God more and I have a plan to do ministry, so I want to be able to encourage others with right biblical knowledge."
How did you hear about this school?
"I read about it from YWAM Thailand brochure, and I realized that there is a biblical study course under YWAM Thailand as well."
Which book do you like and how has your life been changed by it?
"Usually, I like the gospels, and we just studied the book of John. I think this book gives me a very interesting truth of Jesus. I like when he prayed while he was going to suffer and walk through the crucifixion, that he doesn’t want to follow his own will but God’s will. I personally would ask God to help me pass the tough time quickly, but when I think about how Jesus responded to his suffering, it challenges me to take away my selfishness and I want to be different."
What kind of biblical perspective do you have after you’ve finished this school? "I like the fact that ‘The Truth sets us free’, for we know what God says about us. Although people may talk badly about us, I don’t think it is a big deal anymore, so that I won’t grow weary and stop serving Him and continue to live life. This truth gives us a better perspective and we know where we are with God."
Would you like to encourage anyone who is interested to do this school? "I would encourage them to take this course because it’s really helpful. When I understood about the historical background of each book, I don’t interpret the Bible like before. Although I’ve been a believer for many years, what I have learned in this school makes me feel like I’m a still new believer. Also, I am able to understand God’s word on my own, not from other peoples’ interpretation."
