Mission
Lighthouse is a ministry reaching out to young adults who are rejected by the society such as male and female prostitutes and homosexuals. This people are broken inside and need healing from the Healer of the universe which is our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus wants to be a friend for people who need a friend in their life. We need to step out introduce them to their best friend, Jesus.
Lighthouse is ministering in Chiang Mai, the second largest city in Thailand. It is one of the few places in Thailand where it is possible to find centuries-old chedis and temples next to modern convenience stores, and boutique hotels in the heart of the city. The original city layout still exists as a neat square surrounded by a moat with vestiges of the fortified wall. It has four main gates offering prime access to the old town.
Chiang Mai has many universities and an increased growth in the tourist industry. There is great potential for you to join us and work with university students along with the working class people.
Vision
“Then the LORD answered me and said, "Record the vision And inscribe it on tablets, That the one who reads it may run. "For the vision is yet for the appointed time; It hastens toward the goal, and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; For it will certainly come, it will not delay.” Habakkuk 2:2-3
Young People
- We believe the young people are the key to change the nations, because if they grow up with the knowledge of the One True God they could lead the nations to the fullness of God’s plan for them
- The native people are also the main key need to be reached in every way, they know the language, culture and people better, but they need to see the good example from Christians all over the world to show them how to love like God loves.
- We want to see people who are rejected by society meet with God. We want to let them know that their Father in Heaven and their Best Friend is waiting for them and ready to receive them just as they are.
Businessmen and Working Class People
- They are the most influential people who could change the face of the earth by economy. They are the middle class people who can connect the upper level of people such as people in authority and government and the lower such as people who work in labor work as employees. They are easy to access but very few of them know God
- We believe that God has given us favor among the business society to be a good influence to them and we want to be more effective for the Kingdom as well
“I urge you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12: 1-2
We want to see more Mobile Team's in Thailand
- A 'Mobile Team' is be a group of people who will help other Christians or churches to know the alternative channels in their ministry – to come up with new strategies – ideas for evangelism, teaching and discipling the new believers to be mature Christians. From this kind of team, after they able to travel through out the whole country of Thailand and share with churches, ministries and even among non-Christian community.
We want to see the young people - young adults - churches to catch the vision of God and run with it. - This is how short term teams can come along and help us
