YWAM-DTS in Chiang Mai
Discipleship
Training Schools aim to prepare messengers of the Gospel, helping
people to know God in depth. The goal is to form Christian character
while establishing Biblical relationships between the student and
God, and between the student and his family and friends. The emphasis
is on developing a daily walk with God rather than to accumulate
information. This program consists of three months of classroom
teaching and two months in active evangelism in a cross cultural
setting.
Bruce and Nit Geske started the Chiang Mai DTS in 2002 and have run schools yearly since then. The schools have a great mix of Thai and International students that come from all over the world.
Currently we run our DTS in Chiang Mai once a year, with the lecture phase beginning in September. We then have a short mini-outreach often to a neighboring country, such as China or Laos, before coming back to finish the lecture phase. Then, following the lecture phase, we separate into teams for the main outreach phase in two or three locations within Thailand.
