Baan Jai Diaow (BJD)

BJDWelcome to BJD

BJD (Baan Jai Diaow which means “House of One Heart”) is a youth and student ministry of Youth With A Mission - Thailand. BJD opened its doors in June 1995 from a vision to reach Thailand with the Gospel and a calling to see the lives of Ramkhamhaeng 2 University students changed forever by Jesus. Since that time, close to 200 students have been discipled through this ministry and, of these, over 50 have gone on to work with YWAM Thailand.

Vision Statement

Our vision is to be a dynamic youth movement that is releasing missions-minded disciples into all areas of Thai society and to the unreached Peoples of the world.

Mission Statement

We are committed to communicating the Gospel and making missions-minded disciples of Christ among youth and students in Thailand through evangelism, worship, one-on-one discipleship, and other creative expressions, working together with local churches and other Christian organizations.

Our Dream for the Future

After graduating, our students have the potential to influence all spheres of society in Thailand. With a passion for Jesus and for the lost, they can impact the business world, education, the arts, media, the church, families and government. We get the privilege to prepare young men and women to take the gospel of Jesus to every sphere in their nation, changing lives and thereby changing the destiny of Thailand. It’s already happening – help us continue to make this happen.

Help Make Our Dream A Reality

BJD Team

Yes, you can. You really can!
We host several short-term outreach teams per year. These can be involved in campus evangelism, open-airs, prayer, practical help (repairs, painting, cleaning), English teaching, encouragement and support to BJD staff and students, one-on-one disciplesip/encouragement, etc. Musical and artistic teams can be particularly effective. English teaching and playing sports on the campus are great tools in building relationships. We also welcome individuals (both YWAM and non-YWAM) that would like to come and serve the ministry here on a short-term basis.

Short-term: from 2 weeks up to 6 months, these will be considered on a case-by-case basis. People with a heart to serve, to do evangelism and one-on-one discipleship, with Bible teaching or English-teaching abilities, musical skills and/or handyman/carpentry skills.

Set-up for teams:

You will be staying in our student dorm housing. It’s a family atmosphere that gives you many spontaneous opportunities for ministry as well as cultural training. Our housing is simple but clean! Come on, come to Thailand and help make our dreams come true!

Our staff:

BJD LeadersWe have several Thai staff serving with BJD, two of whom are on the leadership team. All five of them come from the poorer Thai provinces. While they were students at Ramkamhaeng University, they first heard the Gospel through someone from BJD. As they lived and were discipled in BJD, God spoke to them about serving Him through YWAM. Each of them completed YWAM’s Discipleship Training School (DTS) and have returned to serve in the ministry that discipled them.

What We Do:

Discipleship House:

The student center is now home to about 30+ new believers, providing a constant God-filled atmosphere and discipleship care. It’s more like a family where students can find a home where they belong.

Evangelism Teams:

Our staff have provided training and led teams with our students to the local university as well as their home villages. This has led to several members in our student’s families receiving the Lord. It has also given us opportunities to help serve pastors and workers in rural areas.

Community Help:

We have worked with short term teams and other local YWAM ministries to serve our local community.

BJD Sports Club

Soccer has become a highly favored sport throughout Thailand, and the world. The students at Ramkhamhaeng University in Bangkok are no exception. Every evening students gather at the university campus to play soccer.

Nirut, one of our staff at The BJD, not only enjoys soccer, he excels in it. Nirut often brings students from The BJD and sometimes others from the University and neighborhood to come play soccer in the evenings. He has a vision to use the soccer team as a tool for evangelism. We would like to stand with Nirut in this vision by helping students discover their gifts and talents and how they can use those gifts and talents to serve God. Nirut's soccer club is gaining interest even from groups outside of Bangkok. We have had the opportunity to organize competitions with other churches and ministries, which has helped us to build relationships with our brothers and sisters in Christ.

The soccer team is planning to use soccer in order to share the gospel with thai people from Bangkok's surrounding provinces. This is an exciting opportunity for some of our newer Christian students to share their faith and to experience how God can use their gifts for evangelism. We are planning on designing our own team t-shirt to sell at competitive events to help finance this ministry. The soccer team plays every wednesday, friday, and sunday evening at 5:00 pm. We are hoping to begin new kinds of sports ministry in the near future as well.
