January
2008 Update
The past 6 months have been very busy here at BJD. We thought
it would be good to catch everyone up on our recent news....
Trip to the States
Dagmar
and Boy were able to travel to the States during the months of
September-November with Boy coming back to Thailand in October.
While in the States they were able to visit many churches and
share with lots of people about what God is doing in and through
the ministry of BJD. Boy became a believer through BJD and is
now not only on staff, but a leader as well. It was not only his
first time in the States but a very special time for him to be
able for him to meet many of our friends and supporters in the
States. He thoroughly enjoyed his time there and especially the
opportunity to be able to share about his life and what God is
calling him to do. It was also fun to see him experience snow
for the first time, an Amercian football game, redwoods along
with many other "American" firsts. Please continue to
pray for Boy as he is the only believer in his family and village
in the North East of Thailand.

Boy
and Aeow's Engagement
Boy
and Aeow were engaged to be married a few weeks after his return
from the USA. Please pray for them as they prepare for their wedding
which will be March 15th, here in Bangkok. (see engagement ceremony

Saeng's
Outreach
Saeng,
one of our BJD staff, led an outreach to his home town (in the
hill tribes) in the northern part of Thailand not too far from
Chiang Rai. His parents, who he has been praying for, for many
years, have now become believers!! Praise the Lord! We believe
that many lives were touched and many seeds planted during their
time there. Please continue to pray for his parents that they
will now attend the local fellowship there and be discipled in
their faith. Keep praying for these teams that will continue to
go out to different villages - these are the villages of our staff
and students.
BJD
Christmas Party and Outreach
Every
year, BJD plans a big party on Dec 25 and this year was no exception.
The days before the big party, our staff and students went out
carolling and sharing about the love of Jesus with the Thai people.
We invited people from our local community to come and join us
as well for a time of celebration.
Pray for those that came that their hearts will
continue to be open to Him and that they would understand the
true meaning of Christmas and not just at Christmas time.
YWAM
San Francisco DTS Team
Every December an outreach team from YWAM San Fran comes to minister
with us here at BJD. It has really been a special for all of us
as over the years, we have developed a very close friendship with
these precious brothers and sisters. As usual, they came with
hearts to serve and give, not just to BJD but to our YWAM family
here in BKK as well. During their time with us, they were able
to share with many, many students and Thais who have yet to know
Jesus as their personal Lord and Saviour.
Dagmar's
Church Team from San Fran
During
the early part of January, Dagmar's home church from San Francisco
were able to come on a missions trip to Thailand. It was very
fun to have them here for their first time. This church was the
church that Dagmar belonged to while she was living in the States
serving with YWAM San Francisco for 5 years so many of them have
beome dear friends. They had an awesome time at BJD and sharing
Jesus with many Thais on their trip here. We look forward to hopefully
having them back with us again soon!
THANK
YOU!
...to
each of you. Your support and encouragement through
friendship, prayer and giving means so much to us. Thank you also
for your partnership in what God has called us to do here
in Thailand. It has been a very exciting and fulfilling year.
We look forward to 2008 and what He has in store for us at BJD.
How
can you be involved?
We
host several short-term outreach teams per year. These can be
involved in campus evangelism, open-airs, prayer, practical help
(repairs, painting, cleaning), etc. Musical and artistic teams
can be particularly effective.
We also welcome individuals (both YWAM and non-YWAM) that would
like to come and serve the ministry here on a short-term basis.
Short-term: from 2 weeks up to 6 months,
these will be considered on a case-by-case basis. People with
a heart for evangelism and discipleship, Bible teaching, English-teaching
abilities, musical skills and/or handyman/carpentry skills.
