Welcome to BJD
BJD (Baan Jai Diaow which means “House of One Heart”) is a youth and student ministry of Youth With A Mission - Thailand. BJD opened its doors in June 1995 from a vision to reach Thailand with the Gospel and a calling to see the lives of Ramkhamhaeng 2 University students changed forever by Jesus. Since that time, close to 200 students have been discipled through this ministry and, of these, over 50 have gone on to work with YWAM Thailand.

This summer outreach, we took our students to Laos. We had 8 people in our team. The group started in our Monday intercession group. Many of the students had a great experience, and learnt more from doing ministry in another country, and had a great experience with God.
Thanks to each team that has worked with BJD, whether with evangelism in the university, supporting us financially, or coming to help out at BJD. We are honored to have been able to work together with every team. BJD would like to thank you all.
Vision Statement
Our vision is to be a dynamic youth movement that is releasing missions-minded disciples into all areas of Thai society and to the Unreached Peoples of the world.
Mission Statement
We are committed to communicating the Gospel and making missions-minded disciples of Christ among youth and students in Thailand through evangelism, worship, one-on-one discipleship, and other creative expressions, working together with local churches and other Christian organizations.
Our dream for the Future
After graduating, our students have the potential to influence all spheres of society in Thailand. With a passion for Jesus and for the lost, they can impact the business world, education, the arts, media, the church, families and government. We get the privilege to prepare young men and women to take the gospel of Jesus to every sphere in their nation, changing lives and thereby changing the destiny of Thailand. It’s already happening – help us continue to make this happen.
Help Make Our Dream A Reality
Yes, you can, you really can!
We host several short-term outreach teams per year. These can be involved in campus evangelism, open-airs, prayer, practical help (repairs, painting, cleaning), English teaching, encouragement and support to BJD staff and students, one-on-one disciplesip/encouragement, etc.
Musical and artistic teams can be particularly effective. English teaching as well as playing sports on the campus are great tools in building relationships.
We also welcome individuals (both YWAM and non-YWAM) that would like to come and serve the ministry here on a short-term basis.
Short-term: from 2 weeks up to 6 months, these will be considered on a case-by-case basis. People with a heart to serve, to do evangelism and one-on-one discipleship, Bible teaching, English-teaching abilities, musical skills and/or handyman/carpentry skills.
Set-up for teams:
You will be staying in our student dorm housing. It’s a family atmosphere that gives you many spontaneous opportunities for ministry as well as cultural training. Our housing is simple but clean!! Come on, come to Thailand and help make our dreams come true!

Our staff:
We have several Thai staff serving with BJD, two of whom are on the leadership team. All five of them come from the poorer Thai provinces. While they were students at Ramkamhaeng University, they first heard the Gospel through someone from BJD.
As they lived and were discipled in BJD, God spoke to them about serving Him through YWAM. Each of them completed YWAM’s Discipleship Training School (DTS) and have returned to serve in the ministry that discipled them.
Boy Changlek (left) from Thailand is leading BJD with our other staff - Aeow (right), Brandon, Aom and Bond.

What We Do:
Discipleship House:
The student center is now home to about 30+ new believers, providing a constant God-filled atmosphere and discipleship care. It’s more like a family where students can find a home where they belong.
Evangelism Teams:
Our staff have provided training and led teams with our students to the local university as well as their home villages. This has led to several members in our student’s families receiving the Lord. It has also given us opportunities to help serve pastors and workers in rural areas.
Community Help:
We have worked with short term teams and other local YWAM ministries to serve our local community.
English Teaching
The Need
All students of Ram. University are required to pass four English courses for their undergraduate degree. The class sizes are HUGE (see picture on left) and the University is an "open" university, which means students are not required to attend any classes. Through these past two years I've been getting to know students that attend Ram. University, I have seen and heard their frustrations with learning English. I've also seen the practice tests they attempt to memorize as they cram for the final exam (the only requirement to pass the class is to pass the exam). I think it's so difficult for students unless they had a very solid education in English or have superb study skills. Sad to say that that's usually not the case.
My Response
One of the reasons I have been led to volunteer at Baan Jai Diaow is to develop an English teaching program that will enable students to not only pass their English classes, but also to equip them with study and communication skills that they will use throughout their lives' and futures as they go on to make Thailand (and the world) a better place. I see this as a means to not only a place to help out intellectually, but also relationally, emotionally and spiritually. –Connecting students to each other and to God.
Outside of the English class, I am also building relationships with students individually, well, because I love them. I want to be there for them as a big sister and mentor to them. I am here to give them an ear to listen, shoulder to cry on and a friend to pray with them. Jesus has been my big brother in this same way (and so much more), so I want to share this Love and the heavenly Lover with them.
About the Class and Getting Involved
More than a dozen students attend this free class offered by Baan Jai Diaow to students of Ramkhamhaeng University. The class is a foundational English course, teaching conversation, listening, speaking, reading and writing. We are using Oxford's New Headway for Beginners curriculum and also interactive activities involving volunteer, native-speakers that travel from all over the world to serve here. We also have fun doing role-playing activities and wild vocabulary games! Would you like to be part of the response to this need? Contact Us.
