Bangkok, located inside the "10/40 Window", is Thailand's sprawling capital city, with over 6 million people. It was first established in 1782 by the first king of the Chakri dynasty, Rama 1. Bangkok is not only recognized as one of the hottest capital cities in the world but it is also known for its unique blend of culture, food and people. The name Bangkok comes from "bang makok", meaning "place of olive plums" and refers to the original site of the city across the Chao Praya River. The Thais refer to Bangkok as "Krungtep" which can be translated as "City of Angels"! Whatever you call it, Bangkok is arguably the most exciting and dynamic city in South East Asia. It is also a very dark place spiritually as well!

The fact that Bangkok is such a strategic center is an important reason why YWAM Thailand has not only set up their National Office here, but many other strategic ministries as well. We invite you to explore what God is doing in and through the ministries of YWAM Thailand here in Bangkok.
